REMAINING PLAYERS TO GET INTO SPARTAN GAME
BLEACHERS ARE BEING ERECTED FOR SUNDAY GAME

________________

Coach Greasy Neal took out his pruning knife last evening and the Tank squad was given its first trimming of the season, through the release of three candidates.

Keish and Carisen, Iowa ends, and Taylor, a tackle who played with Ashland Armco last season, were released by the team after failing to show enough 'stuff' to warrant being carried into the season by the squad. A clause in contracts held by both players stipulates they must be notified of release six days before any game, otherwise they draw pay fro the engagement. Last night was the deadline in this clause and the shears were brought into service.

The Tanks' squad is still composed of 22 men on the active list, with Sloan and Martin on the disabled roster. It is probable all will be carried into the Portsmouth engagement as Neal plans plenty of replacements, to see how the squad performs under fire. Hard signal drill was the bill of fare last evening and similar dish will be handed out during the week, with probably a little scrimmage for spice. Several new plays are being perfected and a deceptive attack is indicated when the Big Red crashes into the River City Purple Tide Sunday afternoon at Beechwood.

The ticket sale is still moving rapidly and Section B has been exhausted. Seats are now being sold in sections A and D. All seats in section C went to Portsmouth but will not be placed on sale there until after the Spartan game Wednesday with Brooklyn.

Bleachers are being removed from Armco field at Ashland and are being erected along the northern Beechwood sidelines. They will command the reserved seat price of $2.00, the old stand in the end zone being held for general admission patrons. It has been announced that the price for children has been boosted to 75 cents, with an additional charge of 25 cents should they desire seats in the stands.

A familiar figure will rule things at the local lots during the game for Frank Lane, that popular official from Cincinnati, has been employed as referee. The game is to be started at 2:30 o'clock.
